Pakistan announce final squad for Asia Cup

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a 16-member final squad for the upcoming Unimoni Asia Cup 2018, which is scheduled to be held in UAE from 15 September to 28 September.

Two experienced campaigners- Mohammad Hafeez and Imad Wasim, who were the part of the preliminary squad of Asia Cup, have been ignored in the final squad of forthcoming tournament. Meanwhile, two young uncapped cricketers- Shaheen Afridi and opening batsman Shan Masood, have been named in Pakistan’s squad.

It can be mentioned, Pakistan cricket team have been going through busy times for the upcoming tournament. They are now busy in a seven-day campaign in Gaddafi Stadium for the Unimoni Asia Cup 2018.

To be noted, Sharfraz Ahmed and his co are belonging in group ‘A’ of the event and will be facing India and a team who will be qualified from the qualifiers round in group stage matches. They will play their first match of the tournament on 16 September. Two days later, they will face their arch-rival India on 19 September in Dubai.
