Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced 16-member squad for three T20 Internationals against ICC World XI, which will take place in Lahore next month.
Pakistan have been trying to bring international cricket back to the country. As a process of it, Pakistan will host ICC World XI for three T20Is on September 12, 13 and 15.
A day after the announcement of World XI squad, Pakistan squad has also been named which includes 16 players. Umar Amin, Faheem Ashraf, Amir Yamin, Mohammad Amir, Sohail Khan, who weren’t in the T20Is against West Indies, have been picked in the squad.
Kamran Akmal, Mohammad Hafeez, Sohail Tanvir, Wahab Riaz have been left out.
“The team has been selected keeping in mind the conditions and the recent performances of some players in the domestic and international tours,” chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq said. “The squad (sic) consists of a combination of the fine blend of youth and senior players. Faheem Ashraf, Ruman Raees, and Aamer Yamin make a place in the squad due to their splendid performance in the domestic tournaments.”
The World XI will be led by South Africa captain Faf du Plessis. Tamim Iqbal is also a part of the squad as the only Bangladeshi.
