Pakistan to continue to play home games in UAE

Pakistan national team will continue to feature its ‘home games’ in United Arab Emirates. The announcement has come after Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) reached an agreement with their Emirati counterpart.

Pakistani grounds had been barred by international community some nine years ago when the team bus carrying Sri Lankan national team cricketers was attacked by terrorists in Lahore leaving six Lankan cricketers injured while killing eight Pakistanis.

A joint statement made by PCB and ECB (Emirates Cricket Board) said, “The PCB and ECB (Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) have held fruitful discussions on matters of mutual interest.”

“The ECB has committed to a significant reduction of the costs to Pakistan Cricket Board of holding tournaments with immediate effect.”

The agreement also states that the ECB will not host any league during Pakistan’s international or domestic T20 matches in the UAE.
