Pakistan will face New Zealand and Bangladesh in a tri-series ahead of the T20 World Cup 2022
On October 7th, Pakistan in third place meets Bangladesh in eighth place and the following day New Zealand in sixth place
Pakistan will take part in a tri-series with New Zealand and Bangladesh in early October as part of preparations for the 2022 ICC T20 World Championship. The Blackcaps are also expected to tour the subcontinent in December 2022 after their 2021 tour was cancelled.
The team, led by Babar Azam, will travel to New Zealand in early October to compete in the Tri-Series. All games are to be played at Hagley Oval in Christchurch. New Zealand released their home summer schedule earlier today and the Tri series is the first series on the cards.
Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ramiz Raja confirmed the Babar-led Pakistan team would take part in the tournament, calling it a "golden opportunity" ahead of the T20 World Cup in Australia.
According to the schedule, all participating teams will play each other twice at Hagley Oval, while the top two teams will face off in the finals on October 14, just days before the mega-event T20.
Pakistan Captain Babar Azam: “I am delighted that we will be in the Tri Series in New Zealand as it will help us to arrive early and not only acclimatize for the T20 World Championships in Australia but also our preparations to give the final touch.
"I missed the last series in New Zealand with a thumb injury and am looking forward to playing cricket against two good opponents in Christchurch."
