Pant attains best rating points for an Indian glove man in ICC Test Rankings
Indian wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant has attained a historic best position for an Indian wicket-keeper in ICC Test Player Rankings.
International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed the latest Test rankings following the two Tests Australia vs India and South Africa vs Pakistan.
Indian wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant is the top one in the latest rankings as he has achieved the best rating for an Indian wicket-keeper in the longest format of the game in ICC Test Rankings.
Rishabh Pant moved up to the 17th position which is the highest position for an Indian wicket-keeper along with Farokh Engineer. The 20-year-old youngster has also attained the highest rating among his country glovemen with 673 rating points, with Dhoni having the next highest aggregate of 662 points and Engineer 619 points.
Pujara has gained one slot to reach the third position after his memorable 193 at SCG. Ravindra Jadeja and Mayank Agarwal are the other two Indians who have gained a significant rise in the table. For Australia, Marcus Harris has reached his career best position 79 while Nathan Lyon has jumped one position up to reach 13th place.
On the other end, Aiden Markram is back into the top ten positions as he takes 10th place at the table while captain Faf du Plessis’s first-innings century has lifted him six places to 16th position. Among their bowlers, Vernon Philander has gained one slot to reach the third position
For Pakistan, Asad Shafiq has benefitted by five places to reach 24th position after scores of 20 and 88. Shan Masood has moved up 22 places to a career-best 65th while captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has moved up from 42nd to 37th place.
