  • PBKS are sixth on the table with 6 wins, 6 defeats
  • PBKS will take on DC on May 16 at Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai
  • Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer is not at all impressed with the overall performance of Punjab Kings' franchise in the ongoing edition of the IPL. The Punjab-based franchise are yet to win a title since the inception of the tournament.
Jaffer not pleased with Punjab Kings' performance this season. They made it all the way to the finals of the IPL 2014 edition. However, they lost to Kolkata Knight Riders. Since then, they haven't actively made it to the playoffs and had disappointing results time and again.
It has been the same case even in this season. They were expected to dictate terms and do well under Mayank Agarwal's captaincy. However, that wasn't meant to be. They ran through ups and downs in the current edition.
Having played 12 games so far, they managed to win six and lose the other six. They are currently placed sixth on the points table with a net run rate of +0.023. PBKS are still in the race to qualify for the playoffs.
They will be looking forward to win the next two games in a bid to stand a chance of making it to the playoffs. PBKS will take on Delhi Capitals in the next game on May 16. After that, they will play against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

“After the auction, they were one of the best teams on paper, consisting of power-packed players. However, selectively they have not delivered. They find themselves in the same position, where they have to win all three matches to qualify for the playoffs," he said.
Meanwhile, PBKS got the better of RCB by 54 runs in the recently-concluded game. This means that they have to win the next two games by better margins.
"Along with winning the remaining matches, they have to improve their net run rate as well, and certainly, they have been a little disappointing this season. Rabada has taken wickets, but Rahul Chahar has not performed as per expectations.
Arshdeep has been economical but has not taken wickets. None of the bowlers have been able to win matches for the team,” said former cricketer, Jaffer on Sky247.net presents ‘Not Just Cricket’ Show on CricTracker.
