Pirthvi Raj replaces injured Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Sunrisers Hyderabad fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar was ruled out of the tournament after he sustained an injury in the game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
Sunrisers Hyderabad secured a comfortable win against MS Dhoni’s men, but they were hit with a huge blow right before the end of the game. Hyderabad’s premium fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar failed to complete his last over due to an injury he sustained in the hip.
The team management confirmed after a couple of days that he is ruled out for the rest of the tournament. Bhuvneshwar managed to play four games this season where he picked up three wickets and looked in great form. It has been the same old story for the fast bowler as injury keeps hindering his career.
Bhuvneshwar missed 5 of the 17 games in IPL 2018 because of back troubles. In the same year, on India’s tour of England, he missed the third T20I and first two ODIs because of similar issues. He eventually returned home midway through the five-Test series.
Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad has named 22-year old left-arm fast bowler Prithvi Raj Yarra as the replacement. The young land from Andhra Pradesh played for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) last season. However, he was released from the squad after the end of the season.
