Hamilton Masakadza

Hamilton Masakadza

A right-handed batsmen and occasional leg-spin bowler, Hamilton Masakadza made his international debut in 2001. He made an instant impact on Test cricket, scoring a century on debut as a 17-year-old – the youngest player to do so at the time. Masakadza has since played more than 140 one-day internationals for his country, scoring three centuries – all in 2009 – and 24 fifties. His purple patch of form in 2009 saw him become the first Zimbabwe player to score above 150 twice. This will be the first time Masakadza has represented Zimbabwe at the ICC Cricket World Cup. His brother Shingirai Masakadza also plays for Zimbabwe.

He was the first Zimbabwean to have two ODI scores of more than 150 and both came in one week.
