Players who can replace Shakib Al Hasan at SRH in IPL 2020
Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will be out of 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) serving his two-year ban following the failure to report three corrupt approaches from a bookie.
Shakib, played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the previous editions of IPL, will now be replaced ahead of the auction in December.
Here we have enlisted five possible replacements of Shakib Al Hasan for SRH.
Glenn Maxwell (Australia):
Australian hard-hitter Glenn Maxwell could be one of the key batsmen for Sunrisers Hyderabad to rope in. Maxwell have had large experience of playing in IPL.
In 69 IPL matches played for Mumbai Indians, Delhi Daredevils and Kings XI Punjab, Maxwell has scored 1,397 runs at an average of 22.90 and a strike rate of 140.83 including six half-centuries.
Fabian Allen (West Indies):
24-year old Jamaican all-rounder Fabian Allen is another handy choice for SRH to replace Shakib Al Hasan. Playing for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the just completed Caribbean Premier League, Allen scored 218 runs at an average of 27.25 and a strike rate of 177.23.
Jason Holder (West Indies):
Jason Holder, the third highest wicket taker in the Caribbean Premier League 2019, represented Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League.
The pace bowling all-rounder grabbed 14 wickets in 13 matches at an average of 25.71, an economy rate of 7.34 and a strike rate of 21.
Roelof van der Merwe (Netherlands):
Roelof van der Merwe has the experience of playing for Delhi Daredevils and Royals Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League from 2009 to 2013. In 21 IPL matches, van der Merwe took 21 wickets at an average of 23.71, an economy rate of 6.74 and a strike rate of 21.09.
He is now playing for Netherlands in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers. In seven matches in the ongoing tournament, van der Merwe has picked 10 wickets at an average of 14.40, an economy rate of 5.53 and a strike rate of 15.6.
Parvez Rasool (India):
Jammu & Kashmir captain Parvez Rasool is an experienced all-rounder has played 51 T20s, where he picked 41 wickets at an average of 30.53, an economy rate of 6.80 and a strike rate of 26.9. The 30-year old cricketer is also a middle-order batsman.
