Mumbai Indians (MI) pulled off a sensational four-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Saturday with some otherworldly power-hitting from West Indies batsman Kieron Pollard.

When Mumbai were set a target of 219 to win, it looked unlikely that they would chase it down despite good start as they were at 81-3 after 10 overs. But, they gave it everything from the outset.

Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock made their intent early as they put on a 71-run opening partnership in 7.4 overs. But all on a sudden, Mumbai lost their path as they lost three wickets- Rohit (35), de Kock (38) and Suryakumar Yadav (3) in three overs.

However, after that it was all Pollard who smashed it around and took the bowling apart. In the middle, Krunal Pandya (32) and Hardik Pandya (16) gave him proper support. 16 runs needed in the last over and Pollard won it for his team off the last ball taking double off Lungi Ngidi’s delivery.

Pollard smashed six fours and eight sixes on his way of unbeaten 87 off 34 balls. He was adjusted man of the match without any doubt.

Earlier, after losing Ruturaj Gaikwad in the first over, Faf du Plessis and Moeen Ali attacked and played some delightful strokes through the innings. They put on a 108-run partnership. Moeen raced his to his half-century in 33 balls and was looking good for more before he was dismissed in the 11th over off Jasprit Bumrah’s delivery.

Then it was Pollard again who took two wickets in an over to take the momentum from CSK in the match. However, Ambati Rayudu added a finishing touch with an unbeaten blistering innings 72 runs off just 27 balls with 4 fours and 7 sixes.
