Ponting opens up the best over he ever faced in his career
Former Australia skipper Ricky Ponting has faced a plethora of fast bowlers in his cricketing career. Ponting has now revealed the best over he has ever faced in his career. Ponting has rated Andrew Flintoff’s over against him in Ashes 2005 at Edgbaston as the best over he faced in his career.
Besides Andrew Flintoff’s incredible pace, he used the reserve swing perfectly.
England Cricket Board official Twitter handle shared the video and former Australia skipper reacted to it.
“Best over I ever faced. Class reverse swing at 90odd mph!”, wrote Ricky Ponting on Twitter.
Ricky Ponting had to walk in right after Andrew Flintoff got rid of Justin Langer who chopped on his stumps. Ponting had to tackle four good deliveries before eventually getting dismissed on the final ball.
After a shout of Leg Before Wicket and missing outside edge, Ricky Ponting got out on the seventh ball of the over as the over got stretched just because of a no-ball.
In what was a historic Test match, England got the better of Australia by just 2 runs.
Flintoff was the star performer of the match as he picked up as many as seven wickets in the match while also delivering the goods with the bat. He scored 68 in the first and 73 in second innings.
