“Proteas have to give their best to defeat Tigers”

“Proteas have to give their best to defeat Tigers”Despite being a top ranked team and playing in the home condition, South Africa are not taking Bangladesh lightly. The Proteas wants to keep the pace through winning all the Tests against Bangladesh. But their concern is about the fast bowling and the form of top order batsmen.

Proteas have faced Tigers in a total of four Test matches and in every of them the won by an innings margin. This record is not that good for Bangladesh but South Africa wants to keep it up.

But this time they are a bit worried as the main pacers are not there to play against Bangladesh and losing against England in series of four tests in England tour this year also curtailed their level of confidence.

This time Chris Morris, Vernon Philander and Del Styen are not in the squad due to their injury troubles and that’s why Morne Morkel along with Kagiso Rabada will do the job of pace attack against Bangladesh.

The absence of main three fast bowlers may make South Africa suffer a bit. But they are trying to cover that up with the rest. On the other hand Aiden Markram is going to open batting with Dean Elgar.

On the eve of the first Test, Markram said to the reporters, “We both are known to each other’s playing. I am really excited to open with Elgar. But injuries of front bowlers are the main concern for the Gibson. To win this match all the fast bowlers have to stay fit and have to take all 20 wickets. But basically the win will depend on fast bowlers in this series.”

He added, “We are not taking this series against Bangladesh lightly in any way. In recent times they have been furious. They will give us no chance”.

Mentioning the recent performances of Bangladesh, South Africa coach said, “Bangladesh have defeated England, Australia in home ground. Sri Lanka is defeated in own ground by Bangladesh. It would not be possible if Bangladesh were not a strong team. They will play with the maximum strength they can give.”

World number one all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is not playing in the Test series. He wanted a rest of six month from Test cricket. BCB has given him two Test’s rest from of series instead of six months.

Gibson said about Shakib, “Bangladesh would be a bit weak as Shakib is not playing there. But we have to keep in mind that the other boys are doing really good. It’s a game of team. So to win against tigers we all have to play our best.”

But Bangladesh has been playing good cricket in all the formats of cricket against all the teams. They have defeated all the top ranked teams in Cricket in last few years.

Gibson added, “Every team stays in an advantageous position in home ground. On that sense we have to make the best use of this advantage.”

After long awaited eight years the first match of this two match Test series is going to be started on 28th September at 2 pm Bangladeshi time in Senwes Park, Potchefstroom, South Africa.
