Pakistan beat Zimbabwe by a huge margin of 8 wickets in the last T20I of three-match T20I series in Rawalpindi on Tuesday (November 10). With the win, Pakistan whitewash Zimbabwe by 3-0.

Zimbabwe came to field to play their third T20 with the aim of avoiding whitewash. Chamu Chibhabha and Brendon Taylor started well after winning the toss. They lost the first wicket for 26 runs in 3.5 overs. Imad Wasim made the breakthrough by taking the wicket of Taylor.

After that, Zimbabwe lost their wickets at regular interval. At one time, it seemed that Zimbabwe wouldn’t able to cross the 100-run mark. But bowler Donald Tiripano fought alone and helped his team to manage 129 runs in 20 overs with the loss of 9 wickets.

Chibhabha was the highest run-scorer with 31 runs off 28 balls. Tiripano scored 28 runs off 22 balls. Usman Qadir took 4 wickets conceding just 13 runs in 4 overs. While another spinner Imad got two wickets.

Chasing a small target of 130 runs, Babar gave the opportunity to the youngster to prove their worth. That’s why he sent young Abdullah Shafique with Fakhar Zaman for the opening slot. They started very well. Fakhar got out after playing a slow innings of 21 runs off 24 balls. Then another young batsman Haider Ali joined Shafique. They made a good partnership of 40 runs.

Haider got out after scoring 27 runs off 20 balls. Then Khushdil Shah came to the crease and showed his worth. He ensured the victory of the team by hitting sixes. 25-year old Khushdil played a tornado innings of 36 runs off 15 balls. While Shafique remained unbeaten on 41 runs off 33 balls.

Wellington Masakadza and Milton Shumba took one wicket each for Zimbabwe.
