Rabada claims six CSA awards

Kagiso Rabada has won as many as six awards in Cricket South Africa 2017-18 awards ceremony. This is the second time he has achieved six awards. He was the first player to win six awards in 2015-16.

Rabada was awarded Test Cricketer of the Year, ODI Cricketer of the Year, Players’ Player of the Year, Fans’ Player of the Year and Delivery of the Year. AB de Villiers, who recently announced his retirement from international cricket, won T20 International Cricketer of the Year. Aiden Markram was awarded International Newcomer of the Year for scoring exactly 1000 runs at 55.55 since his debut.

Rabada was the second-leading wicket-taker in Tests in 2017. He bagged 57 wickets at an average of 20.28 in 11 Tests. He has taken the most, 38 wickets this year so far. He was Proteas’s joint-highest wicket-taker (27) in ODIs last year.

David Miller won the Always Original Award for scoring the fastest T20I century against Bangladesh last year.

For women’s cricket, Dane van Niekerk, who took 4 for 0 against Windies in last year’s World Cup, was named the Cricketer of the Year. Laura Wolvaardt was the Players’ Player of the Year and the ODI Cricketer of the Year, and Chloe Tryon was the T20 Cricketer of the Year.
