Rabada reaches 100 wickets in 22 Tests
Kagiso Rabada has taken his 100th Test wicket in the third day of the second Test against Bangladesh in Bloemfontein. He also took his third 10-for.
Rabada took five wickets for 33 runs in the first innings. He took his seventh five-wicket haul in the second innings, 5 for 30 in 11 overs. He became the fourth South African to take three or more ten-wicket hauls in Tests.
Rabada’s 100th wicket came when he sent back Mahmudullah Riyad for 43. He is the 16th South African to take 100 wickets in Tests and the joint-thirdd fastest (22 Tests). Vernon Philander holds the record with just 19 Tests. Dale Steyn took his 100th in his 20th match while Hugh Tayfield and Allan Donald also took their 100ths in their 22nd matches.
The right-arm fast bowler is also the youngest (22 years and 136 days) South African to take 100 wickets in Tests. He has now 102 wickets in 22 Test matches (39 innings).
Rabada was named Man of the Match for his ten wickets for 63 runs in the match which led the Proteas to an innings and 254-run victory.
