With the two-match Test series between South Africa and Bangladesh begins on Thursday, Proteas’ sensation Kagiso Rabada speaks ahead of the series.
The right-arm fast bowler went back to 2015 Bangladesh tour when he took a hat-trick on his ODI debut. He became the second man to take a hat-trick on ODI debut.
He bowled Tamim Iqbal, had Litton Das caught and trapped Mahmudullah Riyad lbw in the first ODI to create a memorable moment. He went on to take six wickets in that match which was won by the Proteas.
“I had a good experience playing there; I guess it was a dream start to international cricket,” Rabada said after South African squad arrived Potchefstroom to play the first Test.
Later in that year, he made his Test debut against India in Mohali. He added that Bangladesh tour have him the taste of Asian conditions which helped him.
“That tour [of Bangladesh] gave me the taste of Asian conditions, and it helped.”
South Africa are set to start newly under new head coach Otis Gibson, the former West Indian pacer and ex-England bowling coach. Proteas are confident to defeat Tigers under him.
“It [the loss in England] is part of the game, but we are starting afresh under a new coach. It is not a big problem because we know how to win,” Rabada added.
