Rabada ruled out of England ODIs
South Africa pacer Kagiso Rabada has been ruled out of the upcoming three-match ODI series against England. He’s been suffered from right adductor (groin) strain.
For this, he was also left out for the last and third T20I at Newlands on Tuesday (December 1). Lutho Sipamla replaced him in the playing XI.
“The player will be released from the squad and Bio-Secure Environment tomorrow to begin recovery, rehabilitation and preparation for the Betway Test series against Sri Lanka beginning on 26 December,” the release stated.
It was also confirmed that the 25-year old Rabada will need at least three weeks to recover. Which means he’ll surely miss the ODI series which start on Friday.
The pacer will be free from the biosecure environment in Cape Town on Wednesday as he will have to begin his recovery and rehabilitation.
However, it’s expected that he will be fit for Boxing Day Test against Sri Lanka this month. Cricket South Africa (CSA) are unlikely to name a replacement.
Rabada has been playing continuously since October as he’s busy with his franchise team Delhi Capitals in Indian Premier League (IPL). He passed an incredible season as the 25-year old pacer took 30 wickets at an economy of 8.34 from 17 matches.
