Lot’s of changes have been made in the T20I squad from the ODI squad. Wayne Parnell has been ruled out due to groin injury. Imran Tahir and Kagiso Rabada have been rested while uncapped all-rounder Robbie Frylinck has been received maiden call-up by Cricket South Africa for the T20Is against Bangladesh.
CSA National Selection Panel Convener Linda Zondi made a comment about the inclusion of all-rounder Robbie Frylinck and said, “The selection of Robbie provides another opportunity to explore our depth in the important all-rounder position. Apart from his bowling strengths he has a proven record as a finisher with the bat.”
He also talked about the exclusion of Imran Tahir. He informed that Imran Tahir is their first-choice but due to developing and giving chance to other spinners they opted to exclude him from the squad. “Imran remains our first-choice spinner in both the limited overs formats but we also need to develop depth in this important area which is why we have given further opportunities to Shamsi and Phangiso.”
However, Faf du Plessis will resume his captaincy again in T20I format with the upcoming series. Earlier, He missed the series in England.
It can be mentioned, at the end of three-match ODI series between the Tigers and the Proteas, two-match T20I series will be held on 26 at Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein and on 29 October Senwes Park, Potchefstroom.
