The match officials finally decided to call off the day’s play. This means the toss will be held on day two. Moreover, the second day will start half an hour earlier than usual time, at 10:30 am local time (3:30 am Bangladesh Standard Time).

Both teams are yet to finalise their playing XIs. Mushfiqur Rahim has recovered from injury but will not be able to make it for this Test. While there are doubts for Tamim Iqbal too as he will be needed to assess a fitness test before the game. Mustafizur Rahman’s return to the XI is confirmed.

Tamim scored 126 for Bangladesh in the first innings while Soumya Sarkar and skipper Mahmudullah Riyad made 149 and 146 respectively. Blackcaps captain Kane Williamson made an unbeaten 200.
