Rangpur Riders to be led by new owner One of the leading franchises of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Rangpur Riders has started their journey anew under the caretaking of new ownership. Prominent industrial group Bashundhara has assigned as the new owner of Rangpur Riders prior to the fifth edition of BPL.

A sponsorship contract in this regard has been signed in a city hotel on Monday evening. Safwan Sobhan Tasvi who is the Vice chairman of Bashundhara Group and President of Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited, took over the responsibility of ‘Shohana Sports Limited’ under which Rangpur Riders will be managed.

The new management team of Rangpur Riders contains Chairman Mostofa Azad Mohiuddin, advisor Naimur Rahman Durjoy MP, Director Javed Iqbal and Mijanur Rahman and Chief Executive Officer Ishtiaq Sadek.

The new managing director Safwan Tasvi said, “We will try our best to improve Rangpur Riders’ structure through providing all modern facilities to cricketers including appointment of coaches and physiotherapists. Sports can be a vital weapon to restrict young generation from violence and moral degradation.”
