Undeterred by a fighting hundred scored by middle order batsman Raqibul Hasan, Walton Mid zone ended the third day of the match against BCB North zone trailing by 35 runs with 3 wickets in hand.

Walton Mid zone started their second innings with a trail of 269 runs. The team lost top five batsmen of the order within 84 runs.

After that Raqibul Hasan resurrected the team partnering with Tanbir Haider for 114 runs. With the help of 17 fours, Raqibul scored 105 runs in 152 deliveries. Tanbir added 38 runs in the partnership.

Walton Mid zone ended the day scoring 234 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Subashis Roy, Ariful Haque and Suhrawardi Shuvo all took 2 wickets each for BCB North zone.

Walton Mid zone still needed 35 runs to avoid the follow on in this match.

In the beginning of the day, BCB North zone skipper Jahurul Haque Omi could add just 6 runs with his overnight score of 152. His 158 runs knock came off 244 balls delivering 14 fours and 5 sixes.

Resuming the day at the score of 433 runs for 7, BCB North zone declared their innings at 457 for 9.

Taskin Ahmed bagged 4 wickets for the team; he has recently been dropped from the national team squad for the forthcoming tri-nation series.

Shuvagata Hom captured 3 wickets for Walton Mid zone while Mosharraf took 2 wickets.

Dhiman Ghosh also missed the century by a trifle margin of 7 runs. He scored 93 runs.
