Rashid and Nabi furious over board’s decision to sack Asghar

Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) sacked Asghar Afghan as captain from all formats of the game right before the World Cup.

With World Cup right around the corner, the Afghanistan Cricket Board have come up with a shocking decision as they sacked Asghar Afghan as captain and named different captains for all three formats of the game.

Gulbadin Naib, Rashid Khan and Rahmat Shah will take over the reins for ODIs, T20Is and Test cricket respectively while Rashid, Shafiqullah Shafiq and Hashmatullah Shahidi named as vice captains for ODIs, T20Is and Test cricket respectively.

And the decision has not gone too well for Nabi and Rashid, who expressed their views directly on their Twitter. The duo is currently playing for the same team Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The decision has absolutely stunned Afghan’s vital duo and they are utterly disappointed as the decision was made before the World Cup.

“Being a senior member of the side & having seen the rise of Afghanistan cricket I don’t think it’s the right time to change the captain before the WC The team has gelled really well under & personally feel he is the right man to lead us,” Nabi tweeted,

Meanwhile, Rashid posted two tweets and said that this decision will affect the team’s morale before the World Cup.
