Khan gets huge money for every wicket

So far till the 21st match of the VIVO IPL 2017, Rashid had taken 9 wickets, which means each of his wickets costs BDT 24 lacs. Popular cricket website ESPNCricinfo has revealed this outrageous calculation.

A couple of teams were desperate to rope in Khan in the IPL 2017 auction. In the end, the Orange Army won the battle to sign Khan in. Though there were numerous criticisms thrown at the defending champions for ‘wasting’ so much money for a Associate Nation player, Khan has silenced everyone with his brilliant on-field performance.

So far in this IPL, Khan has taken 10 wickets in 7 matches, which puts him in the 5th position among the leading wicket-takers of the season. The first place belongs to Khan’s SRH teammate Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who currently has as many as 16 wickets to his credit.

To be noted, Khan made his international debut back in 2015 during an ODI match against Zimbabwe. Since then, he has played 26 matches for the Afghans to pick up 53 wickets. In T20Is, he has 40 wickets in 24 matches.
