Ravi Shastri pays tribute to Kane Williamson

Indian head coach Ravi Shastri was back with his words like a commentator as he paid tribute to Kane Williamson through Twitter.

The ending of the World Cup had a contrast of emotions. While the England team jumped up and down with joy, the New Zealand captain smiled all the way despite the heart tearing apart inside. The calm and composed skipper never argued with the umpires neither showed any anger despite being robbed by four runs.

The gesture of the New Zealand captain has touched the hearts of millions including the current Indian head coach Ravi Shastri. He isn’t seen in the commentary panel anymore due to the coaching role for India, but he didn’t shy away from paying a tribute to Kane through his Twitter handle.

“Your composure and dignity viewing the sequence of events was remarkable. Your dignified grace and silence 48 hours since is simply remarkable. We know you have one hand on that WC. You not just Kane. You Kane and Able. God bless,” he tweeted.

Williamson scored 578 runs at an average of 82.57 and he was also named as the player of the tournament. Apart from batting superbly throughout the tournament, he also marshalled his troops well and set an example as the true gentleman of cricket.
