The injury is so serious that the 33-year-old all-rounder is on the verge of being ruled out of the Bangladesh tour. However, when he was included in the Indian team for the tour of Bangladesh, there was still little doubt about his fitness.
The selection panel of BCCI led by Chetan Sharma said that Jadeja can go on the tour of Bangladesh only if he clears the fitness test. However, this senior BCCI official told PTI that Jadeja's chances of visiting Bangladesh are slim.
Note that Jadeja was injured in the match against Hong Kong in the 2022 Asia Cup. He had to leave the field in the middle of the match. The injury was so serious that Jadeja underwent surgery. The experienced all-rounder could not even play T20 World Cup due to injury.
According to rumours in the media, Shahbaz Ahmad would likely replace Jadeja on the trip. Several sources have suggested that the BCCI is interested in evaluating Suryakumar Yadav in the conventional style of cricket.
The three-match ODI series will begin on December 4 at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka, marking the beginning of Team India's tour of Bangladesh. The series’ second and third ODI games will be played on December 7th and 10th, respectively. India and Bangladesh will play two Test matches as part of the ICC World Test Championship following the ODI series.
