Rayudu takes a dig at selectors with a cheeky tweet
Despite having an average of 48 in the limited overs format, Ambati Rayudu was not picked for the 15-man World Cup squad.
While it was a day to remember for Vijay Shankar and Dinesh Karthik, it was quite the opposite for Ambati Rayudu, who must be shell shocked after not being selected for the World Cup.
He has an average of 48 and even a month before, it was quite certain that he is set to go to England. The batsman even retired from domestic cricket to concentrate only in the ODI format.
After all this, Rayudu received a shock from the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) on Monday after he came to know he has no place in the 15-man squad.
However, rather than being disappointed, Rayudu took it in a sporting way and also took a dig at the selectors with a cheeky tweet on his Twitter.
Vijay was picked over Rayudu due to the all-round abilities of the player, according to the India’s chairman of selectors MSK Prasad.
“We did give a few more chances to Rayudu but what Vijay Shankar offers is three dimensions: apart from his batting, he can bowl; if the conditions are suitable, overcast, which we might encounter in England, he might bowl a bit and he’s a fantastic fielder,” he said.
And Rayudu responded to this on Tuesday via Twitter saying “Just Ordered a new set of 3d glasses to watch the world cup.”
Just Ordered a new set of 3d glasses to watch the world cup 😉😋..

Had Ambati Rayudu scored enough runs he wouldn’t have needed to order 3D glasses to watch the World Cup.

Taking it in his stride OR lashing out sarcastically? Ambati Rayudu’s ‘3d glasses’ tweet on World Cup 2019 omission is dividing the Internethttps://t.co/Dq96ZEMMim

If Ambati Rayudu had worked on his batting skills instead of his sense of humor, he would have been the first choice of selection committee.
