Razzak enters the record book by creating history in DPL
Bangladeshi orthodox spinner Abdur Razzak broke another record in his legendary career. He made a new record in the ongoing Dhaka Premier League (DPL) which helped him to register his name in the record book as a first Bangladeshi player.
He took 400 wickets in his List “A” career. He is the first Bangladeshi bowler who achieves this hard task.
He was just one wicket away to reach this achievement before the match Uttara Sporting Club. He completed this achievement in just the 12th over of the match in his individual first over. He took the wicket of Anisul Islam Emon who scored 33 runs. Razzak bowled him in his last delivery of his first over and reached the landmark.
To reach this landmark, he played just 269 matches in his List “A” career. He had to bowl 13,952 deliveries to take these wickets at the economy rate of 4.38 with 34.9 strike rate.
In the list, Bangladeshi limited over captain Mashrafe Bin Mortoza sat behind Abdur Razzak. He is also close to 400 wickets. He needs just 9 wickets to become the second player to do that. He played 280 matches to get 391 wickets. At third with 307 wickets Bangladeshi ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan placed his name.
However, Razzak took 4 wickets in the match by just giving away just 15 runs. His team, Prime Bank Cricket Club won the match by 57 runs in D/L method.
