Razzak to perform well in nets for national team entrance
The injury of Shakib Al Hasan has opened a slender gate of opportunity to taste national team venture for veteran spinner Abdur Razzak. After reshuffling the national squad thrice, Bangladesh selectors put their trust upon the 35 year old forgotten spin wizard of the country.
But the big question lies ahead who are going to be selected in the playing eleven; because apart from regular spinners in the team the like of Mehedi Hasan Miraz and Taijul Islam, BCB hauled two more of the them for the forthcoming Test series against Sri Lanka, Tanbir Hayder and Sanjamul Islam.
So the per indication would require Abdur Razzak to bowl well in the nets to be selected in the playing eleven.
BCB Chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu, recently told to Banglanews, “We need spinners in the coming series as Shakib won’t be able to play. We have called Razzak beside Sanjamul because he is an experienced campaigner. We will observe him in the nets tomorrow; as it is a home series, we can call any player in the team anytime.”
It has been four years since he is out of the national team. In 2014, Razzak was discarded after Bangladesh’s tour to West Indies. Razzak played 153 ODIs for the country registering 2017 wickets. Whereas featuring only in 12 Test matches, Abdur Razzak claimed 23 wickets.
