Royal Challengers Bangalore have completely outplayed Kings XI Punjab at Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore in the 48th match of Indian Premier League 2018. RCB have driven themselves to a comfortable 10-wicket victory.
RCB chose to bowl first after winning the toss. KXIP was hit by the injury of Mujeeb Ur Rahman, who missed the match.
Openers KL Rahul and Chris Gayle got Punjab off to a start. Both departed in quick succession scoring 21 and 18 runs respectively. Aaron Finch got himself going but couldn’t carry on as he made 23-ball 26. Only these three could manage double figures.
A horrible collapse led KXIP to bundle out for 88 runs in 15.1 overs. Three of the dismissals were run outs. Umesh Yadav bagged three wickets for 23 runs. Yuzvendra Chahal and co. were economical.
In a quest to keep the hopes alive, RCB looked dominant with the bat as well. Skipper Virat Kohli and Parthiv Patel batted their way to a 10-wicket victory in just 8.1 overs. This win keeps them at 10 points in 12 matches, which yet keeps their playoffs chances safe.
Kohli smashed 48 runs off 28 deliveries including 6 fours and 2 sixes. Patel scored 22-ball 40 hitting 7 boundaries.
