RCB stay alive after a thrilling win

In the match number 51 of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated the table toppers Sunrisers Hyderabad and keep themselves alive in the tournament.

Kane Williamson won the toss and opted to field first. The RCB openers departed early but Moeen Ali (65) along with AB de Villiers (69) repaired the damage and took their side to a massive score of 215 runs in their 2 overs.

AB’s innings of 69 off just 39 balls includes 12 fours and 1 six while Moeen hit 6 massive sixes and 2 fours to score 65. Shakib Al Hasan had an off day with the ball as he failed to pick up any wicket and conceded 35 runs in his 4 overs.

In reply, Shikhar Dhawan and Alex Hales started the chase well and Hakes’ 37 runs from 24 balls made a way for the SRH to chase the score. After his departure, skipper Kane Williamson kept the hitting going and his 81 runs off just 42 balls were taking away the game from RCB’s hand before Mohammad Siraj removed him in the last over of the match.

After the skipper’s departure, Siraj successfully defended 20 runs in the last over and Manish Pandely’s unbeaten 62 off just 38 balls went in vain.

With this win, RCB climb to 5th position with 12 points and they will be up against the Rajasthan Royals which will be an unofficial knockout match. On the other hand, SRH still remain as the table toppers despite the defeat and they have already qualified for the play-offs.
