According to an official source, South African all-rounder Chris Morris could be taken by Rangpur. However, his participation is not yet confirmed.

The Riders have previously brought in the likes of Alex Hales and AB de Villiers before the players’ draft. Both of them will be playing their first BPL event. While, Caribbean superstar Chris Gayle was retained by the team.

Rilee Rossouw of South Africa, England’s Ravi Bopara and Benny Howell are other foreign members of Rangpur squad. Bopara was a part of their championship team in 2017. Windies fast bowler Oshane Thomas was brought in the draft.

Rangpur won the 2017 tournament under Mashrafe Bin Mortaza’s leadership. Mashrafe will be leading them again in the upcoming event.

The sixth edition of BPL T20 was supposed to be played in November-December this year. It was later postponed to January 2019 as it clashed with general elections, where Mashrafe will be contesting from Narail-2.

BPL 6 will commence from 5th January. This year’s event will also include Australians – David Warner (for Sylhet Sixers) and Steve Smith (for Comilla Victorians). However, Smith’s participation is under scrutiny as Comilla picked him after the draft where he was not even a part of the list.

Rangpur Riders squad: Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Nazmul Islam Apu, Mohammad Mithun, Chris Gayle, Alex Hales, AB de Villiers, Shafiul Islam, Sohag Gazi, Farhad Reza, Mehedi Maruf, Ravi Bopara, Rilee Rossouw, Nahidul Islam, Nadif Chowdhury, Abul Hasan Raju, Fardin Hossain, Benny Howell, Oshane Thomas
