The members of the Bangladesh T20 team have left the country with the hope of winning the T20I series against West Indies. Before leaving the country, the national team's T20 captain Mahmudullah Riyad has expressed his determination to win the series.
Bangladesh won the T20 series on the last tour of the West Indies. The Tigers aim to maintain that trend again. Riyad said, “Bangladesh's goal is to win the series. And we will try to play good cricket. At the moment our team balance is very good. It will be a good series.”
However, West Indies have the potential to become dangerous at any time "They are a very good team in ODIs and T20s," Riyad added. “We have to play good cricket. Playing in their condition, of course, will be a challenge. But the last time we played there, we won the series by playing good cricket, so we will try to win the series again.”
Yasir Ali, Shohidul Islam, and Mohammad Saifuddin have been excluded from the squad due to injuries and so the 17-member T20 squad has been reduced to 14 members. There are rumors that Mehidy Hasan Miraz, a Test, and ODI regular, may return to the T20 squad after a long absence.
“I think Miraz is worthy. He is performing very well. He did well in the last BPL too,” Riyad said regarding Miraz.
