Even though India lost the game at Sydney Cricket Ground, it was a day of records for the Indian right-handed batsman Rohit Sharma. With his ton, Rohit registered his 4th one against Australia in Australia which is the highest by any player in this trivia. Rohit has scored hundreds at these four venues – MCG, WACA, Gabba, and SCG.

Further, this ton was Rohit 7th overall against Australia in the format and he is very next to the Master Blaster for most no. of tons in the games between India and Australia. Sachin Tendulkar scored nine such ones.

This is the 10th consecutive ODI series/tournament in which Rohit Sharma has scored a century. The next best streak is six consecutive series/tournaments by Virat in 2012. And this is Rohit’s first ton in a losing cause in his last three-digit scores for India in this format.

Rohit Sharma’s fighting knock of 133 had six sixes and the opening batsman created some records with sixes too. Till now Rohit Sharma has scored 64 sixes against Australia in ODI and 88 in all three formats. Both of them are the highest ones for a player against a single opponent.
