Shakib Al Hasan’s ban from all forms of cricket by the International Cricket Council (ICC) has been a hot topic for discussion in the cricketing world. The highest authority of cricket banned the player for two years with a year of suspension sentence.

Live: Sunrisers to bowl first, Shakib to play first match of the season
Shakib played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the previous season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The experienced Bangladeshi all-rounder proved to be guilty of being in touch with a bookie during the tournament.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh cricket team is currently in India for T20 and Test series against the hosts. Ahead of the series, it was undoubtedly a big loss for the team as they would not get the service of the number one ranked allrounder.

Since the Shakib issue is currently a widely discussed topic, the journalists did not miss the chance of asking India’s skipper Rohit Sharma about this in Delhi before the first T20 of the series.

However, in his typical way, he shrugged off the issue. “I am not ICC,” he was quoted as saying in an event where he was unveiled as the brand ambassador of global sports brand Trusox.

Shakib is currently enjoying his leisure time with his family in the United States and keeping himself away from the media.
