Rohit’s century helps India to finish series in style

India have won the 5th ODI by 7 wickets and have clinched the series 4-1 courtesy of Rohit Sharma’s brilliant knock of 125 from 109 balls.

Australia after winning the toss elected to bat first in a track that has been quite good for batting first in the past. The average first innings score at Nagpur is 319. Australia were off to a flying start and the openers put 66 runs together before Aaron Finch departed.

David Warner kept his good form going & scored 53 runs which was the highest score for Australia today. The man for India was Axar Patel who bagged 3 wickets for 38 runs. Aussies managed to score only 242 in the end as most of the batsman failed to convert their innings into a big one.

In reply, Indian openers Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma started aggressively and the duo made an all important partnership of 124 runs which made India very comfortable to win the match in the end.

Kedhar Jadhav and Manish Pandey finished the match with 43 balls to spare. The man of the match is Rohit Sharma for his brilliant hundred while player of the series is Hardik Pandya for his all-round performance throughout the series.

With that, India ended the 5 match ODI series 4-1 and maintained their dominance at home. On the other hand, Australia’s poor run in Asia continues.
