Rubel Hossain hit by rumor
Bangladesh pacer Rubel Hossain has denied the ongoing rumor regarding him that he does not want to play Test cricket anymore. There also have been some suggestions that the pacer is not keen to keen to bowl long spells in the hot, humid condition on the unfriendly pitches.
However, Rubel termed all the allegations as ‘complete lie’. In his latest interview, he said, “It is a complete lie. I don’t know who said something like that.”
Adding on the same he even raised a question why he would do that and claimed as his only income source. “Why would I not want to play Tests? Cricket is my source of income and me and my family depend on it. There is no cheating here. I don’t know who invented these things but I’ve never said that I don’t want to play Test cricket,” he added.\
Rubel has been a regular member of the team for quite a long time now. His performance has been impressive in the shorter format of the game. But it is completely opposite when comes to Test cricket. As his performance was not up to the mark whenever he played in the white jersey, there were rumors that he does not want to bowl for a longer version cricket anymore.
The bowler who is famous for his butterfly bowling action brushed off the allegation by pointing that he plays longer version cricket in the National Cricket League (NCL). “I am bowling at the BCL, right? I am playing the matches. If I did not enjoy Test cricket then I would have avoided the longer format [BCL]. I have never cheated this way,” he concluded.
