Bangladesh had a very poor time in the South Africa tour so far and bowling has been the main problem. Despite of getting sporty wickets, the bowlers couldn’t bowl well and get wickets.
For this poor show throughout the series, bowling Coach Courtney Walsh has been in the spotlight of criticism for many but not for the right arm pacer Rubel Hossain.
He said: “I don’t see any fault of the bowling coach. Actually we tried, but failed. Starting from bowling to field settings and plans, we couldn’t do anything successfully.”
He added: “Maybe it happened because of our mistakes. We should have take wickets with the new ball. In such conditions, the new ball has to be used properly. Quick wickets need to be taken. If that would have happen, it would have been good for us.”
Many believes the bowlers are not even understanding Walsh, but Rubel doesn’t agree to it: “This is nothing like that. This is not true that we aren’t able to understand the coach. We couldn’t bowl according to our plans.”
Rubel also added: “Actually the wicket was very good. It was batting friendly. We wanted to bowl in good areas. Sometimes it happened, sometimes it didn’t. But still we should have bowl better, which we couldn’t do.”
