Sabbir accused of incursion against a spectator

Sabbir Rahman, the national team hard hitter seems like a stock name for negative news in Bangladesh cricket. Gone through controversial incidents many a time, Sabbir is now convicted of physically hurting a spectator during the last round match of National Cricket League in Rajshahi. Playing for Rajshahi Division, Sabbir is also accused of misconduct with match officials after the match.

It is reported that some spectators threw offensive words to Sabbir when he departed from the crease without scoring in the only innings he got the opportunity to bat in the last round match between Rajshahi Division and Dhaka Metro.

Sabbir went out of the field taking permission from field umpires Gazi Sohail and Tanvir Ahmed and called that man behind the site screen where he deliberately assault the spectator who rebuked him.

BCB operations committee chairman Akram Khan said, “We are informed about the matter by the report of match referee. It is totally unacceptable for a national team representative. We are embarrassed. The nature of punishment will be determined by the disciplinary committee. Those who have their places in the national team must understand what to do or not.”

Sabbir Rahman could face a huge monetary compensation along with suspension in several matches of domestic cricket if the complaints will be proved.

Earlier in an incident of physical violation to a woman during the fourth edition of the Bangladesh Premier League, Sabbir had to confront a pecuniary fine of 13 lac BDT.
