After Anamul Haque, hard-hitting batsman Sabbir Rahman has also completed 1000 runs in ODI cricket for Bangladesh during the third match of tri-series against Sri Lanka.
Anamul was the joint-fastest Bangladeshi to score 1000 ODI runs in 29 innings equalling Shahriar Nafees. Sabbir has taken 42 innings to archive the feat. He smashed 24* runs off 12 balls including 3 fours and a six.
Sabbir got his 1000th run in style by hitting Suranga Lakmal for a six over deep midwicket on the fifth ball of the last over of Bangladesh’s innings. He hit two fours in that over too.
Sabbir is the 20th Bangladesh batsman to score 1000 ODI runs. He has now 1009 runs in 48 matches (42 innings) at a strike rate of 94.21 including five fifties.
