Sabbir-Mosaddek tons lead Bangladesh ‘A’ to comfort zone

At stumps of the third day of the first four day match between Bangladesh ‘A’ and Sri Lanka ‘A’ in Chittagong, Bangladesh ‘A’ are in the leading position, courtesy to a pair of hundred by skipper Mosaddek Hossain Saikat and hard hitter Sabbir Rahman.

With a single day left in the match, Bangladesh ‘A’ are 89 runs away from the mammoth first innings total of Sri Lanka; the second string team of the island nation scored 449 runs for the loss of 8 wickets before they declared.

Bangladesh ‘A’ started the third day quite submissively losing early 2 wickets at the score of 44. Adding one more to the tally of Sri Lankan bowlers in Thursday morning, Tushar Imran departed scoring 25 runs facing Sandakan at the team score of 72.

The incipient disaster encountering the huge opposition total was hooked up by persistently composed batting from two middle order batsmen Sabbir Rahman and Mosaddek Hossain Saikat.

Mosaddek hammered 135 runs, his tenth first class hundred while Sabbir Rahman bounced for his fourth first class hundred. Two of them constructed a massive 189 runs fourth wicket partnership before Jayasuriya brought Mosaddek back in the pavilion.

But Sabbir Rahman remained unbeaten till the end of the day. After losing Mosaddek, he structured another fruitful partnership with wicket keeper Zakir Hasan. The duo added 77 runs in the fifth wicket partnership.

Playing 254 deliveries, Sabbir Rahman is unbeaten scoring 144 runs. On the other end, Zakir Hasan is not out scoring 27.
