Sachin gives huge compliment to Marnus
Marnus Labuschagne? Who is he? This was the first question cricket fans asked after hearing his name. This man came in as a replacement of injured Steven Smith. But did he justify his selection right? Yes, he did way more than everyone possibly imagined. Marcus impressed the cricket fans by chipping in with three consecutive 50+ scores.
Sachin Tendulkar who has been following some Ashes action in the thick of things highlighted the art of leaving and defending the ball while showering praise on Australian batsman Marnus Labuchange.
India’s all-time great was pretty much impressed by the way Marnus Labuschagne batted against England in the ongoing Ashes series. According to Sachin, Marnus left the ball incredibly well, something which is rare in the red-ball cricket.
“I have been watching a little bit of Ashes and I thought someone like Marnus Labuschagne has left the ball brilliantly, which is something that you don’t get to see in Test cricket,” the highest run-getter in Test cricket spoke highly of Marnus.
“Normally you tend to glide those balls to the third man and pick a single. But the kind of surfaces they are playing on, if you steer the ball you go to the dressing room,” Sachin explained.
The legend also said that it is advisable to leave the deliveries and defend well in a bid to stay at the crease.
“You need to leave those balls or defend solidly. And the guys who have not been able to do that, they have been watching the game from the dressing room,” he said.
