Saifuddin to miss first three games for Rajshahi
Minister Group Rajshahi’s Mohammad Saifuddin has been ruled out of the field for a week. This means he will miss the first three games for Rajshahi in Bangabandhu T20 Cup 2020.
The all-rounder injured his left ankle while playing football in warm-ups. He was taken out of the Mirpur Academy Ground shortly after receiving a preliminary treatment. This has raised questions on cricketers putting too much effort on football and left Saifuddin’s participation in the tournament in scrutiny.
According to a source from Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), Saifuddin will not be available to play for at least a week.
“Look, it’s hard to come to a decision for Saifuddin. We will keep him in observation for two days. Given the condition of his ankle, we don’t see him playing for a week,” the source told BDCricTime.
“We are not going for a scan at this moment. We would have to take him out of the bio-bubble to scan. Getting out of the bio-bubble is risky. If it gets serious in two days we will do scan and other tests. But he is not playing for a week, that’s for sure.”
Rajshahi will play Beximco Dhaka in the opening match on Tuesday (November 24). Najmul Hossain Shanto-led side will take on Gemcon Khulna (November 26) and Fortune Barishal (November 28) in the next seven days.
