Sanjay Manjrekar reacts after getting sacked from commentary panel

There is no doubt that cricketer-turned-commentator Sanjay Manjrekar is one of the most experienced commentators at present. He was part of the commentary panel for the last three World Cup tournaments and almost all ICC events since his retirement from cricket.

However, he ruined his reputation by bringing in some controversies and the first big controversy that took place in the World Cup when he called Ravindra Jadeja a bits and pieces cricketer before the spinner shut him down with a good performance against New Zealand in the semifinal. Later, he was involved in a heated exchange with fellow commentator Harsha Bhogle.

Recently, Sanjay Manjrekar has been sacked from BCCI’s commentary panel and the former cricketer finally reacted to his sacking. While the BCCI sacked him from its panel even before the start of the cancelled ODI series between India and South Africa. As per the reports, he is also going to miss out on the IPL commentary as well.

Sanjay Manjrekar was not with the commentary panel in Dharamsala ODI and since then many noticed his absence. However, the BCCI is yet to give an update on the sacking but Sanjay Manjrekar reacted to the unexpected announcement from the BCCI.

“I have always considered commentary as a great privilege, but never an entitlement. It is up to my employers whether they choose to have me or not & I will always respect that. Maybe BCCI has not been happy with my performance of late. I accept that as a professional,” Sanjay Manjrekar wrote.
