Sarfraz Ahmed puts on Pakistan military uniform in Quetta celebration
Sarfraz Ahmed, Pakistan’s national cricket team captain who led Quetta Gladiators to an emphatic victory in this year’s Pakistan Super League, enrobed a Pakistan Army uniform to celebrate his team triumph in Quetta.
On Saturday, the PSL champions celebrated the victory in its home town in an especial ceremony arranged by the Pakistan government. The Gladiators clinched the title by beating Peshawar Zalmi in the final played in Karachi’s National Stadium on March 17.
Cheering fans welcomed the home team at the Quetta International Airport carrying banners and spreading rose petals.
The official twitter handle of Quetta Gladiators shared the pictures of the event, which was attended by Commander of Southern Command Lt-Gen Asim Bajwa and Baluchistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan among others.
A musical show prolonged up to the late night was also arranged for the team at the Quetta Polo Ground cantonment.
In the ceremony, the chief minister pledged to hold one of the matches of the next Pakistan Super League in Quetta. He applauded the Quetta Gladiators over their win that brought much awaited jubilation to the country’s south western province.
Sarfraz Ahmed displayed the army wear following Indian cricketer’s controversial army caps crowing earlier.
