The 1st ODI of the New Zealand Tour of Scotland 2022 will be played between Scotland and New Zealand on 31 July 2022 at the Grange Cricket Club in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Scotland put on a dismal performance in their T20I series against New Zealand. The Richie Berrington-led unit was completely dismembered in the series, losing their final game by a margin of 102 runs. The hosts will aim to let go of their poor form and put up a spirited fight at 15:30 IST on 31 July at Edinburgh's only ODI.
New Zealand managed to overcome their poor performance in the Test series against England. The Black Caps proved their prowess at white ball cricket by completely decimating Ireland and Scotland. Visitors also want to continue their triumphal procession at the unique ODI.
The team led by Mitchell Santner did a good job in all departments. Her find of the summer was Michael Bracewell, who also scored a half-century in the last game. The Black Caps were also buoyed by the performances of Ish Sodhi, Mark Chapman and Finn Allen.
As for Scotland, the hosts are lagging behind in both batting and bowling. Their bowlers were ineffective while their batsmen were unable to fold and score. It takes a team effort for the Scottish side to give New Zealand any kind of challenge.

Current ODI form Scotland

Scotland have been in mediocre form in ODI cricket. They have won 3 of the last 5 matches they played in ICC Cricket World Cup League 2.
Players to look forward to in Scotland:
1. Richie Berrington – With the added responsibilities of captaining the Scotland side, he will be keen to impress with a game-winning performance in the 1st ODI against New Zealand.
2. Gavin Main- He not only impressed everyone with his bowling skills but also with his shots. Gavin Main will be one of the key players for Scotland in the 1st ODI.

Current ODI form New Zealand

New Zealand is in excellent form in the ODI format. They recently won a 3-game ODI series against Ireland 3-0 and the Netherlands 3-0.
Players to look forward to in New Zealand:
1. Michael Bracewell - He is currently in the form of his life. Once Bracewell gets going he will be hard to stop for Scotland.
2. Mitchell Santner - Mitchel Santner can be deadly with the ball in the ODI format. Its tight lines and variations can really slow down the flow of running.
