Sehwag and Ashwin react to Vihari’s epic reply to Supriyo
India’s middle-order batsman Hanuma Vihari was the talk of the town for his incredible resilience and fight during the third Test match against Australia at the SCG. When Australia set up a target of 407, they had plenty of time to dismantle India’s batting department.
The Aussies removed half of India’s batting line-up on Day 5. Soon after that, the experts, fans and commentators thought that the hosts would convincingly win the Test. However, Hanuma Vihari and Ravichandran Ashwin had better ideas in mind.
The duo ensured to not take any risk as they defended the balls more often than not. In fact, Vihari picked up an injury during the game and didn’t take any risk in running between the wickets. He defended the balls on most occasions and gave the team a ray of hope.
Earlier, Rishabh Pant played a top knock and missed out on scoring a century by 3 runs. Apart he departed for 97, Pujara who also batted well departed after making 77. Ravi Ashwin and Vihari’s partnership turned out to be the best thing for India.
The match ended in a draw. Ravi Ashwin also played his part alongside Vihari. The duo added a 62-run stand for the sixth wicket. Ashwin scored 39 off 128 balls including 7 fours. On the other hand, Vihari ended up scoring 23 off 161 balls.
Vihari’s savage reply to Supriyo
While the whole nation praised Vihari for his fight, Babul Supriyo, an elected Member of Parliament, from West Bengal was not at all impressed with the knock as he slammed the cricketer for murdering cricket. He wrote, “Playing 109 balls to score 7! That is atrocious, to say the least.
Hanuma Bihari has not only killed any Chance for India to achieve a historic win but has also murdered Cricket.. not keeping win an option, even if remotely, is criminal. PS: I know that I know nothing abt cricket”
Vihari might have simply ignored the negativity after his heroics but he decided to silence BJP MP Supriyo by correcting his name. Supriyo had written Hanuma Vihari as Hanuma Bihari. Meanwhile, the cricketer replied to Supriyo’s post by writing: “*Hanuma Vihari”.
The former Indian opening batsman Virender Sehwag reacted to Vihari’s savage reply to Supriyo. He took a screenshot and uploaded it on Twitter. He posted an interesting caption that reads: “Apna Vihari, Sab par Bhaari !”, which roughly translates to ‘Our Vihari can take on everyone else.’
