Sehwag picks his World Cup squad for India
Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag picked up his 15-man squad for the upcoming World Cup in England.
India’s World Cup squad is set to be announced on April 15 and former Indian opener Virender Sehwag meanwhile has given his verdict on the squad and what he prefers.
Sehwag picked up 7 players who played in the 2015 World Cup while he replaced 8 players. Fast bowler Mohit Sharma and all-rounder Stuart Binny was the surprise exclusion as they are not even in India’s ODI setup or in the mind of the selectors. He has also picked up Ajinkya Rahane and wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant over Dinesh Karthik.
Sehwag posted his squad on Twitter and said – “My Team India for the 2019 World Cup. 7 players from the 2015 team, 8 replacements ! What is your team?”

Meanwhile, another former Indian opener and Sehwag’s opening partnership Gautam Gambhir wants Sanju Samson in the World Cup squad and he believes he’s the right man for the number 4 position.
“For me it’s been very clear, and I see Sanju Samson the right person who can fit No. 4 spot of the team. I have always believed in thinking out of the box and look for best quality players, Sanju would be the best pick,” he said.
Samson is currently featuring for the Rajasthan Royals in the ongoing season of Indian Premier League (IPL) and has already scored a fine hundred (102 unbeaten off 55) against the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
