Shadman to miss Pakistan Test, Zimbabwe series

Bangladesh opener Shadman Islam will be sent to Australia later this month to see Orthopedic consultant Greg Hoy, Bangladesh Cricket Board official confirmed on Wednesday. 


According to reports Bangladesh Under-19 pacer Mrittunjoy Chowdhury will also be sent along with Shadman.

Shadman has been suffering from wrist injury that forced him to rule out of Bangladesh’s first Test against Pakistan in Rawalpindi. Besides a shoulder injury made Mrittunjoy to return midway to the ICC Under-19 World Cup in South Africa in which Bangladesh were the champions.

Bangladesh national team Chief physician Debashis Chowdhury said Shadman might need to go through under surgeon’s knife to recover from the injury. Therefore any kind of surgery would through him out of action till April.

It can be noted that Dr. Greg Hoy previously operated several other Bangladeshi cricketers like Mashrafee bin Murtaza, Sakib al Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman and Tamim Iqbal.
