Shafiul wants to repeat his World Cup success

Shafiul Islam, the Bangladesh pacer is very happy with his sudden opportunity to get into Bangladesh’s World Cup squad. He is not thinking about how and through which process he got this opportunity. He said he is just looking forward to give his hundred percent when the eventual opportunity of taking the field on behalf of Bangladesh comes.
He played in the last World Cup on his home turf as the replacement of then-injured Mashrafe Bin Mortaza. He played a winning knock with taking 4 for 27 on Tigers’ way to beat Ireland by 27 runs during that World Cup.
He also became the saviour of the Tigers against England and this time around – as a batsman. When Bangladesh were in trouble with 169 for 8, his unbeaten stand of 58 with Mahmudullah Riyad brought his team a convincing 2-wicket win over the elite side of world cricket.
He will be leaving for Australia this evening to join Bangladesh cricket team on their World Cup campaign. Before leaving, Shafiul shared his excitement over the suddenly-got opportunity to play in the World Cup.
”(That I am) going to play the World Cup, I just couldn’t believe. It gave me a different feeling. Still I am obsessed with.”
As Al Amin is being sent back home after breaking team curfew, Shafiul is flying to Australia as his replacement. But Shafiul is not worried at all about which brought him to join the Bangladesh side.
“I was disappointed that I couldn’t make it to the final squad of World Cup. But now I will be trying to give out my best.”
Shafiul’s biggest weapon as a strike bowler is his swing. He has the ability of breaking through with the new ball. This young pacer, who has played 52 ODIs in total so far, is aiming to surprise his opponents with his balanced line and length.
