Shahriar Nafees waits for run feast in Chittagong


Former national team opener Shahriar Nafees has been performing well since the beginning of the fourth edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Although maximum number of matches are low scoring in context of T20 competition, Shahriar Nafees showed his instinctive performance with the bat.

So far he has scored three stroke rich half centuries in the tournament. After scoring 55 runs in the first match, the left hander made 63 runs in the third match and 65 runs in the last group match of Barisal Bulls. The performance of Shahriar Nafees, however enriched his team Barisal Bulls who came victorious in three matches out of four the franchise played.

“I’m trying to do well for my team. I will keep my effort of working hard and score good runs for the team” – Nafees said. However the stylish opener expressed his hopes of watching high scoring matches in the next phase of the competition which is going to take place in Chittagong from 17th of November.

“We had different plans against England and we became successful on that. I am hoping for more runs in this stage of the competition after watching the pitch condition during net sessions. I reckon batsmen would gain some advantages from here” – he said.

The seven day long first stage of the tournament saw only eight innings crossing 160 runs among a total of 26. Shahriar Nafees also hoped for continual of success runs for Barisal Bulls, “We want to start the first match in Chittagong like the way we did in the previous three matches. Every match and every innings is important.”
